M-Sec

Technology, among other things, seeks to find tools that bring new benefits to improve people’s lives. The aim is to adapt the environment to human needs.

There is an increasing need to find supports that propose new solutions to common urban problems. Thanks to the amount of data made available through technology, it is possible to resolve issues more accurately and thus contribute to improving the well-being of society.

The M-Sec project is based on technology that has as its main objective a very human ambition, namely the mission to improve the well-being of citizens living in smart cities.

M-Sec is a collaborative project focused on the use of new technologies in the areas of Big Data, IoT, Blockchain and Cloud computing. The aim of this initiative is to enable local and municipal governments, citizens, researchers, entrepreneurs and businesses in both Japan and the European Union (EU) to work together, create new connections and employ new innovative solutions to typical urban problems.

The initiative has been active from July 2018 until June 2021, being the result of a strong partnership between leading European and Japanese universities, research centres and technology companies.
