The city of Malaga hosted the first edition of the FIWARE Tech Summit, on November 28th and 29th, organized with the ambition of bringing together the FIWARE community and enabling the discovery of how the use of this technology can help developers, startups and large companies to hold a relevant place in the context of the Smart Cities and the Internet of Things.
The agenda of these two exciting days had two clearly differentiated parts. The first day focused on Developers, showing how FIWARE technology can facilitate the development of smart applications through documentation, practical experiences and methodologies so that everyone interested has the chance to be a leading FIWARE contributor.
On the other hand, the second day put the focus on Startups, and allowed the audience to hear technology leaders share their vision on smart solutions in cities, agriculture and industry, start-up companies tell their success stories and public officials reveal their plans for a digital future.
TST had the opportunity to showcase some of its IoT FIWARE-ready solutions, in particular those focused on providing real-time measurements of environmental parameters, as well as devices designed to contribute to the efficient management of waste collection in the Smart City. In addition, our colleague Arturo Medela took part in the presentation called “Connecting to IoT”, in which he explained to the attendees the peculiarities of these latest IoT modules and their communication capabilities using Sigfox networks.
The next FIWARE Tech Summit will take place in May 2018 in Portugal – see you in Porto!
