A Cantabrian robot will protect ports and critical infrastructure across Europe thanks to Celestia TST\u2019s participation in the PROACTIF project, an ambitious European initiative led by Nokia<\/a> and funded by the European Union through the Chips Joint Undertaking program. The consortium brings together 42 technology companies and academic centers from 13 countries, aiming to transform emergency management and the protection of critical infrastructure on the continent.<\/p>\n

Celestia TST: Leadership in Port Security<\/strong><\/h2>\n

From its headquarters in Cantabria, Celestia TST leads Mission 2.2: Port Security, focused on strengthening the safety of port environments through autonomous surveillance, perimeter protection, and early threat detection. To achieve this, the R&D team is developing a compact, modular, all-terrain mini-UGV (unmanned ground vehicle) capable of operating autonomously thanks to advanced navigation and perception systems. This robot will be able to patrol both indoor and outdoor areas and adapt to demanding scenarios such as ports, industrial facilities, or disaster-stricken zones.<\/p>\n

A Pan-European Impact Project<\/strong><\/h2>\n

PROACTIF aims to strengthen Europe\u2019s technological resilience and leadership in electronic systems, drones, and robotics, supporting the continent\u2019s industrial autonomy. The project expects to generate nearly \u20ac90 million in revenue, 50 new products, and over 15 industrial patents by 2035, as well as to create hundreds of new jobs and attract more than \u20ac40 million in additional investment.<\/p>\n

Under Nokia\u2019s coordination, the consortium will develop nine advanced technology blocks and five next-generation UxV (unmanned vehicle) platforms, with a special focus on interoperability, autonomy, and rapid deployment to meet Europe\u2019s social and market needs. The use of these technologies will enable more efficient surveillance and improved situational awareness in the face of incidents at critical infrastructure sites.<\/p>\n
